Welcome One and All!

Welcome One & All!

This chronicle is about my family of Azerothians in World of Warcraft. Join us as we explore every nook and cranny in the land of Azeroth. We are both Horde and Alliance, PVP and RP. I simply enjoy this world because it’s fun, challenging and deeply enriched with lore. I am an avid casual player and do not consider myself an expert at any part of the game except maybe pet collecting.

I might sometimes entertain you with my blunders, share my new insights and hopefully entice you into joining us as we drift here and there discovering more of this great land they call Azeroth.

Warcraft Custom Posters and T's

It's been a long while since I have posted anything. I've been pretty busy taking care of my Grand babies and still actively playing WOW.

I found this great site that makes custom T shirts, Posters, etc. You can design your own using one of your favorite characters using the easy to use template.

This is a link to keep in your back pocket when an occasion (Christmas, Birthday, Graduation)arises and you want to make a special gift for a Warcraft fan.

A Galaxy far, far away...

I have expanded my exploration to include The Old Republic of Star Wars. And what a grand and exciting adventure it is. I have always had an affinity for things extraterrestrial and it is easy to get lost in my missions and discovering this new world.

Explore an age thousands of years before the rise of Darth Vader when war between
the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire divides the galaxy.
Choose to be a Jedi, a Sith, or from a variety of other classic Star Wars roles, and make decisions which define your personal story and determine your path down the light or dark side of the Force. Along the way you will befriend courageous companions who will fight at your side or possibly betray you based on your actions. Together, you will battle enemies in dynamic Star Wars combat and team up with other players to overcome incredible challenges.

My first character is 'Die'Shimain', a Republic Smuggler/Gunslinger - think Hans Solo.
Black Vulcar PvP realm.

I'm level 20 right now and soon to get my wookie companion. The graphics are incredible and the story interaction takes you deeper into relationship with your character and his companions. WOW definitely has some strong competition here but I still love that world and go back and forth depending on my mood. Do I want to explore strange galaxies and life forms or do I want to wander around more familiar territory? Lately it's been the stars that call....

All New Darkmoon Faire

The Darkmoon Faire has been moved to a mysterious island only accessible once a month when the Faire is in progress. The only way there is through a portal from Thunder Bluff or Goldshire.

It was fun and festive and just a bit on the seedy side. I avoided the back of the tents and darker corners. The Faire grounds itself are safe, but wandering into the woods and along the coast was a different story. Areas outside the path and Faire are considered contested, which is important to note for those playing on PvP servers. Audreyrose got ganked as she was lost in thought fishing along the shores.

The games were fun but getting enough Darkmoon Prize tickets for the new pets, mounts or gear is going to take a very long time as I do not like doing the dungeons. I sure hope Blizzard adjusts that a bit.

I am excited about the new pets and 2 new mounts available and will eventually collect them all. Can't decide which I want first. The monkey sure is mischievious looking and very cute. The cuteness factor always gets me.

If you go be sure to pick up your Darkmoon Adventurers Guide as soon as you arrive.

You have the opportunity to fish up the SEA PONY while fishing anywhere in open waters. Lumindarae (Spinebreaker/Horde)  and Serefina (Feathermoon/Alliance) both got him in a short while and in the same location. He's a very cute little companion that follows you safely protected in his little bubble of sea water.

Happy Thanksgiving and The Pilgrims Bounty

Gathering outside of Stormwind

We are actively celebrating Thanksgiving this week in Azeroth. Among the activities which occur are cooking, eating and sharing food, food fights, and turkey hunting.

My friends are running to and fro gathering ingredients (pumpkins, cranberries, potatoes, sweet potatoes) and cooking up a storm to be awarded the distinguished title of 'Grand Master'.

Then there is the hunting of turkeys and trying to be the first one to snag it. The competition is tough. Then more running to the big cities to drop off the goodies to be enjoyed at today’s holiday feast to be shared by all. If you don’t have flying or a mount it’s a lot of running.

This holiday celebration is a fairly easy and quick way to level up your cooking skills.

Here’s a tip on how to level up from 1 to 350 during this event.

Buy the Bountiful Cookbook from the cooking vendor at the event.
You can open the recipes as you reach the appropriate level.

Make 70 Spice Bread – you get this from your cooking trainer
Make 70 Spice Bread Stuffing
Make 70 Pumpkin Pies
Make 65 Candies Sweet Potatoes
Make 65 Cranberry Chutney
Make 65 Slow Roasted Turkeys

THE TURKINATOR

This has been a tough one for my friends. You have to compete with fellow Azerothians to catch the turkeys in record time. Hunters probably have the best chance so I will send Lum out for another try at it.
This achievement requires you to kill 40 Wild Turkeys with less than 30 seconds between each kill. If you fail to kill the next turkey before the 30 seconds run out, you will have to start all over again.
When you kill your first turkey, you gain the buff "Turkey Tracker: Tracks the number of turkeys you have terminated." It also counts down the 30 seconds you have to kill another.
You get informed of your progress:
  • 10 - Turkey Hunter!
  • 20 - Turkey Domination!
  • 30 - Turkey Slaughter!
  • 40 - TURKEY TRIUMPH!

You are awarded a pet turkey at successful completion of all the achievements for Pilgrims Bounty.

So far none of my friends have completed them all. I'll let you know if Lum succeeds this year.

Happy Turkey Day to All!

Troll God Spirit Beasts Hunters can Tame

Serafina, Night Elf Hunter - level 42 - Feathermoon Realm
Has tamed Pogeyan and Tsul'kalu.

Location where these beasts can be found

Pogeyan

Level 28  non-aggressive rare cat. He is a beautiful, gleaming-coated cat with burning red eyes and a slightly hunched pose. Truely one of a kind. Good luck on your hunt, fellow hunters!

In the wild, he is labeled 'The Fire Spirit', and is quite large. He is also neutral. For pet-hunters, this is a unique skinned cat (not a Spirit Beast, despite the 'Fire Spirit' title!), shared by no other pet in the game.

His spawn time seems to be around 3-6 hours, and he has one spawn point.

***The Pogeyan is a cryptid grey big cat, a feline; possible leopard or out-of-place Asian lion, known to local people, allegedly living in the Western Ghats, India.
The name "Pogeyan" is derived from the local dialect and means "The cat that comes and goes like the mist"

Mahamba

Level 28  non-aggressive rare crocolisk.

This is a large crocolisk labeled as 'The Water Spirit', and despite the name can be tamed as a crocolisk. It uses the same model as the two spawned crocolisks 'Khamen' and 'Thartep', as well as the Tol Barad crocs.

This model has one spawn point (just north of the lumber camp), and doesn't pat very far from it. His spawn time seems to be around 3-6 hours, as with the other troll gods. They do not share a spawn time; all three can be up at the same time.

***Mahamba is a cryptid rumoured to lurk in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, around the Lake Likouala swamp region. It is purported to be an enormous crocodile; reaching lengths of up to 50 feet (15 m). Some have speculated that it is a freshwater relic of the mosasaurs; huge, sea-dwelling lizards which were presumed extinct by the end of the Cretaceous period.

The Bobangi aboriginals have proclaimed this animal to be unlike any other they have seen, and have only compared it to other creatures, such as a Nkoli (the Bobangi word for crocodile) or the legendary Nguma-monene for the sake of comparison. It is also been reported to attack and devour rafts and canoes.

Tsul'kalu

Level 28  non-aggressive rare white gorilla.

He is titled 'The Earth Spirit' and is a large (very, very large!) white gorilla, using the same skin as Uhk'loc in Un'goro. Although his title is 'The Earth Spirit', he is not a spirit beast when tamed, but rather just a gorilla.

In the wild, Tsul'kalu has one spawn point, and doesn't pat very far from it. He's difficult to miss, being a massive neutral white gorilla with an earth shield. His spawn time seems to be around 3-6 hours.

***Tsul 'Kalu (the slant-eyed or sloping giant), is a legendary figure in Cherokee mythology who serves the role of "the great lord of the game", and as such is frequently invoked in hunting rites and rituals.Tsul 'Kalu is also believed by some to be the Cherokee version of Sasquatch or Bigfoot because he seems to share several physical and behavioral traits with the creature.

Spawn times are not shared with the other troll spirits; all three can be up at the same time.

Gaming can make a better world

People who spend hours playing video or online games are often maligned for “wasting their time” or “not living in the real world,” but McGonigal argues persuasively and passionately against this notion in her eminently effective examination of why games are important [...]. With so many people playing games, this comprehensive, engaging study is an essential read.
